I started this blog to share my love of baking- something I've been passionate about since elementary school!
As years passed, I began to learn about the science behind baking and how to apply that to develop my own recipes, which are shared here on my blog. Baking also introduced me to food photography, another hobby that allows me to be creative and challenges me to see food in different ways.
I hope my blog inspires you to get in the kitchen and bake! With my thoroughly tested recipes and step-by-step instructions, I want to give you the confidence you need to bake delicious desserts.
Baking with Grams
All of my recipes are written using grams instead of cups. Measuring with cups doesn't provide enough accuracy for the strict science that baking is- a cup of flour can weigh anywhere between 120 and 180 grams depending on how you much you pack it down! Switching to a kitchen scale (a $12 investment!) provides an instant upgrade in accuracy, while also cutting down on dirty dishes. I don't recommend trying to convert my recipes to cups- not only is it less precise, but many of the conversions would show up as odd amounts. For example, 100 grams of flour would be ¾ cup plus 2 and ½ teaspoons! For consistent results in your baked goods every time, get a kitchen scale and I PROMISE you'll be converted!
